A Medley of 2011′s Biggest Pop Songs Proves This Has Been The Year Of “Tonight”

Musicians Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider have kicked off the time-honored tradition of the compilation medley by putting together an excellent mashup of the year’s biggest hits. Wait, is it too early for this? Didn’t we just figure out how to shuffle? Because we’ve already been bombarded by an aural arsenal of holiday music and it’s only early November, we suppose this opens the door for year-end retrospectives. And we’d be lying if we said we didn’t like feeling nostalgic—oh how we yearn for those days of early May! Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory,” Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything,” Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” and LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” are most heavily featured, bridged together by their shared love of all things happening in the impending nighttime hours, with a little bit of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” thrown in for good measure. With all the time these tracks and artists spent on top of the charts these past few months as well as on rotation in the aisles of your local CVS, we suppose this is by all accounts an accurate representation of the year in pop. But no “Rolling In The Deep”?
