The Popdust Files: drake, saturday night live

In between paying his respects to the ladies and finishing Take Care, Drake had some time to shoot Saturday Night Live promos with this week’s host Anna Faris and SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis. Great news for those hoping his appearance also includes a skit or two. Wearing his Toronto letterman jacket as seen in “Headlines” video, Drake brings what he sings about in “Make Me Proud” to life in the clip, by cockblocking complimenting Faris and her comedic timing, much to the chagrin of Sudeikis. Sorry, Jason, but no one can resist the charm of Jimmy Brooks. And swoon.

Drake also told MTV that he plans to change the SNL stage, which typically resembles New York’s Grand Central Terminal, for his two performances. “One thing that I do notice is not too many people bring atmosphere change, so I really pushed to change the station into something different and I think I did a great job of that,” he explains. “I just hope that visually and sonically, it’s a superior performance.” It doesn’t cost too much to fly the Sky Dome roof in to New York, right? Put it on Lil Wayne’s tab.
