Lady Gaga Celebrates Sting’s 60th Birthday With “King Of Pain” Cover

After performing together at the iHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas last week, Lady Gaga took the stage with Sting once again to help celebrate his 60th birthday at New York’s Beacon Theater on Saturday night. Gaga put her own touch on The Police classic “King of Pain,” by sitting at a piano and trading verses with the birthday boy before giving way to her foot-tapping desires and lifting the song into full “You and I” territory. Luckily, Jo Calderone was nowhere to be seen.
The birthday show benefited the Robin Hood Foundation and included performances from Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Mary J. Blige, will.i.am and Bruce Springsteen. According to Rolling Stone, the night ended with a group performance of “Every Breath You Take,” followed by Sting’s acoustic “Message In A Bottle” and wife Trudie Styler’s own present to her husband, in the form of a bagpipe collective. Can we get a compilation disc as a party favor?
