Shakira To Be Honored At Latin Grammys

The Latin Grammy Awards, held November 10, will honor Colombian diva Shakira as Person of the Year. She joins past recipients Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and Julio Iglesias and will be the youngest person to receive the award. Considering her career started more than 15 years ago (and before “Whenever, Wherever”; that was her worldwide crossover but not her first), she’s still more than put in her years and hits. The award also honors her outside ventures, including founding the charity Pies Descalzos Foundation and being a UNICEF ambassador.
This year, Shakira’s up for three awards: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sale e Sol and Best Short Form Music Video for “Loca.” Here’s a refresher.
