Demi Lovato Covers Lil Wayne’s “How to Love”

When Lil Wayne recorded “How to Love,” he predicted that the song would take him to “sitting next to Taylor Swift” at the CMAs. Well, he hasn’t quite gotten there yet, but the song has now officially jumped platforms, as pop star Demi Lovato performed a cover of it at her gig at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY. It’s a fairly good fit, cover-wise, as the song maybe makes a little more sense coming from the perspective of a fellow Earth female than a male extraterrestrial like Wayne, and the gravelly high-pitched notes that Demi has to hit towards the end cover up some of the less-appropriate lines anyway. She still has a long way to go in the peer-cover department to match Taylor, but it’s a start.
