Today is the day after Labor Day. You are either in an office, in a classroom, or in the seething envy of the other two groups. Here’s something for all three: the video for rock supergroup Wild Flag’s “Romance,” endorsed on these pages as more joyful than the entire summer condensed into one sparkly pop track.

In the nigh-incomprehensible event that “Romance” alone isn’t enough to send your spirits swooning, why not a vicarious coffee break where you get to break things? Granted, those broken things include the likes of garage-sale silence, the proper treatment of a basketball and the shelves of any record store imperceptive enough not to stock a bunch of Wild Flag CDs, which–y’know, it’s slick. Not broken: animal masks, that awesome car, various music-criticky things like the interplay of the band and the track itself. We endorse them all.
