While Jennifer Lopez made her post-divorce announcement comeback by way of a glamorous Vanity Fair cover and fat new American Idol paycheck, her future ex-husband Marc Anthony will be taking his first step back into the public eye by incessantly denying reports that he cheated, during the wee hours when many of his fans will likely be asleep. He’s giving his side of the not-so-divergent story in a new interview on Nightline, airing Thursday at 11:35 p.m. EST on ABC. A brief video excerpt shows Anthony speaking largely about his alleged infidelity, which has involved rumored affairs with everyone from a flight attendant to his HawthoRNe costar Jada Pinkett Smith. Despite what you may have read or heard, he maintains that there was no “sensationalistic happening” that led to his break-up with Lopez. “It was a realization on both of our parts so it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. These things happen,” he explained to John Quiñones.
The “intensely private” singer also revealed his dislike for our culture’s celebrity obsession, what he calls a “competitive sport,” yet welcomed Quiñones and his crew into his Long Island home. Yes, Anthony has both a home theater and studio, could possibly be considered a hoarder with those “collections” of his, and sadly utters the phrase “this is where the magic happens,” all in one quick preview. Privacy is a relative term, we guess. Watch the clip below.
