The Popdust Files: billy joel, lindsay lohan, tattoos, wtf

News came down the pipeline today that fallen starlet Lindsay Lohan had gotten herself some new ink. Specifically, she got a tattoo of a Billy Joel lyric—”Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife I feel like I’m in the prime of my life”—off Joel’s 1990 #6 hit “I Go to Extremes.” Wouldn’t be our first choice (or our 37th) of Joel songs to get the lyrics from permanently inscribed on our bodies, but hey, works for Lindsay. We’re sure it won’t seem at all bitterly ironic in 50 years when she’s 75 and coming dangerously close to peaking.

Anyway, this all raises the obvious question: If Billy Joel wanted to repay Lindsay for her tribute, what classic Lohan lyric would he get inked on his person? The candidates:

-”Live like it’s the last moon rising / Scream just like no one’s there” (From “Very Last Moment in Time“)

-”You don’t need a high IQ to succeed in what you do / You just gotta have no doubt, just believe in yourself” (From “Drama Queen (That Girl)“)

-”I was born a fighter / I was born on a rainy day” (From “My Innocence“)

-”God wont talk to me / I guess she’s pretty busy lately” (From “Beautiful Life (La Bella Vita)“)

-”Leave me alone to pick up the pieces / A daddy to hold me, that’s what I needed” (From “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)

After much deliberation, we have to go with the last one, from “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father).” It’s got the melodrama, the regret, and most of all, the paternal issues that have tugged at Billy in recent years. Maybe he and Alexa can get matching tats!
