The Popdust Files: jay-z, kanye west, Tour announcement, watch the throne

Jay-Z may claim that things are totally cool between he and Watch the Throne collaborator Kanye West, but evidence continues to suggest some kind of behind-the-scenes drama. At the Throne listening party at the Hayden Planetarium in New York last night, the two showed up at separate times with separate entourages and interacted sparingly, if at all. Now, the duo is pushing back their tour for another month, now beginning in Atlanta on October 29th instead of Detroit on September 22nd. What’s more, a number of stops on the tour now appear to be outright canceled, much to the chagrin of fans in Minneapolis, Toronto and Denver, among others. Here’s the new list of dates, courtesy of Pitchfork.com:

10-29 Atlanta, GA – Philips Arena
10-30 Greensboro, NC – Greensboro Coliseum
11-01 Baltimore, MD – 1st Mariner Arena
11-02 Philadelphia, PA – Wells Fargo Center
11-03 Washington, DC – Verizon Center
11-05-06 East Rutherford, NJ – Izod Center
11-21 Boston, MA – TD Garden
11-23 Toronto, Ontario – Air Canada Centre
11-26 Detroit, MI – Palace of Auburn Hills
12-01 Chicago, IL – United Center
12-05 Houston, TX – Toyota Center
12-06 Dallas, TX – American Airlines Center
12-09 Las Vegas, NV – MGM Grand Garden Arena
12-10 San Jose, CA – HP Pavilion
12-12 Los Angeles, CA – Staples Center
12-18 Vancouver, British Columbia – Rogers Arena

Is this the beginning of the end for ‘Yeezy and Jigga, or just a couple of perfectionists wanting to make sure every aspect of their tour is done good and proper? Here’s (continually) hoping it’s the latter, but a couple more issues arise with this thing, we might have to start acknowledging the likelihood of the former.
