The Popdust Files: beyonce

Last night, a “Telephone” collaborator and one-fifth of the charts’ Rihanna-appointed pack of female performers went on a TV show hosted by a guy named Jimmy to perform one of her more slow-burning singles about a guy from her past. The difference is that Jimmy Kimmel performances have things like huge logos for beer companies, and Jimmy Fallon performances have things like The Roots backing Beyonce. There should be more opportunities for pop-star performances to line up to perfectly! Problem is, the limiting factor is the number of famous Jimmys. Maybe someone should get the co-founder of Wikipedia a talk show.

At any rate, it’s good to see at least some promotion for 4 happen, considering all the bellyaching that was happening by either the label, the performer or the audience (we’re not even sure anymore) about this. Now if they’d just release “Countdown” already….
