With so much focus on the most miniature details and sordid scandals of pop artists’ lives, it’s easy to forget that they too can–and do–experience genuine tragedy. Last night, Nicki Minaj posted details to Twitter about the death of her cousin Nicholas Telemaque, 28, who was shot and killed in Brooklyn:
Lived in Brooklyn his whole life. My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite. http://lockerz.com/s/117041230

Telemaque, according to MTV News, was shot multiple times in the upper torso at E. 52nd St. and Farragut Road in East Flatbush at about 2:40 a.m. and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kings County Hospital No arrests have been made as of posting, and police are investigating. The New York Daily News writes that Telemaque had just left C-PAC nightclub before being shot.
Needless to say, we wish Nicki the best throughout all this and will update with further developments.
