We’re no experts in love—no matter how many episodes of The Millionaire Matchmaker we watch—yet going off pop culture’s track record of wedding-related reality shows, building a televised spectacle around your big day doesn’t always lead to happily ever after. Continuing this week’s trend of questionable nuptials, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo will have their upcoming wedding taped for a TLC special, the network announced today. Because that worked out so well the first time, right Nick? Didn’t Newlyweds teach you anything?
“We’re lucky to have such passionate and loving fans, and we thought partnering with TLC on this special would be the best way to share the exciting journey we’re on with all the people that support us and our relationship,” the couple said in a statement. Currently with a working title of Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding, the special is set to air just weeks after the actual ceremony, which could take place “any day now,” according to Lachey’s brother and former 98 Degrees member Drew. Everything from the hunt for Minnillo’s dress to the pair’s joint bachelor-bachelorette party (where’s the fun in that?) will be included in the special. But if you guys feel short material or inspiration prior to the big day, may we point you towards our favorite wedding music videos? Perhaps Nick can revisit his performing days, or at least show more personality than he does as host of The Sing-Off.
