The Popdust Files: bill o'reilly, common, lupe fiasco

That Bill O’Reilly, he really wants to be a one-man pinkerton squad when it comes to exposing those politically conscious Chicago-based rappers for the vile thugs that they are. After debating Daily Show host Jon Stewart on the merits of White House-invitee and alleged Black Panther  / cop killer sympathizer Common, O’Reilly now plans to confront the problem head on, by bringing on rapper Lupe Fiasco for a discussion on tonight’s episode of The O’Reilly Factor. Who knows what they might end up arguing about? What kind of skate trucks make for optimal ollying? The best episode of Lupin III? Whether or not it was too soon to sample Modest Mouse’s “Float On”?

To be fair to O’Reilly, Lupe has brought the controversy on himself this time, with recent comments about Pres. Obama being “the biggest terrorist” as far as he saw the country’s fight on terrorism. O’Reilly has called Lupe a “pinhead” on his show, and claimed that his reps had invited the rapper on the show to discuss his comments, a claim later tweet-refuted by Fiasco. But apparently, rapper and host have since hooked up to pre-record their bit, which should air tonight on the 8:00 Factor.

So, Lupe Fiasco vs. Bill O’Reilly: Who ya got? Gonna be tough for such a relative young’n as Lupe to take on a seasoned competitor like O’Reilly, though perhaps what he can compensate with youthful passion and energy for what he lacks in veteran knowhow. Should be an epic showdown, in any event.
