Because the opinion of Debbie Gibson is one we should all hold high, the one-time teen queen is reaching out to today’s youth. Drawing largely from personal experience, Gibson—who’s gone back to “Debbie”—is dishing out advice to 21st century pop stars Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus in a series of generic yet mildly entertaining videos for iHeartRadio, called “What Would Debbie Do?” Among the topics discussed, she seems to feel the strongest about Bieber and Gomez’s budding relationship. Watch below as she disapproves of the couple’s recent very public trip to Hawaii (next time just take her bowling, J) and warns them of the risks of exposing “too much too soon.” She also has a message to those intense Beliebers who have taken the couple’s romance especially hard: “I know it’s a fantasy that you’re going to date your crush, but if you real think that Justin’s great and you care about him, wish him well.” That’s a nice way of saying get a life. And FYI for those looking to expand your personal brand via the eventual fragrance line: stick to vanilla scents. (Noted.) Popstars really do know best. We only hope Bieber and Gomez realize who this advice is coming from. (The lady from Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, duh.)
