If you’ve been behind for a day or so on your viral-video-turned-legit-musician news, it’s understandable that you might be worrying just who this Kreayshawn person is in your news feed. Sure, you could Google it and get lost in a linkbyrinth of Soulja Boy and Lil B and Odd Future connections, but that’s way too basic. You could be watching this Fader TV interview, in which the Oakland rapper braves the NYC heat (seriously, props) to talk things like weed and profanity! Kreayshawn on “basic bitches: “You can smell a basic bitch from a mile away. You can smell that bitch’s perfume. A basic bitch is just someone who likes what’s typical to like. The radio puts stuff on the radio that they think is typical and you should like it, and that’s something a basic bitch would like. She likes those normal brands and wears them all the time because that’s some basic shit.”

On her profane-Gilmore Girls childhood: “My mom was a single young mom. She had me when I was 16. So I’ve always been not able to do whatever I want to do, but there wasn’t all these eyes watching me. I was able to be like, ‘Yeah, fuck!’ and my mom was like “Ha ha, my daughter said fuck!”

On her financial situation, at least until her record deal money clears: “I have zero dollars. … [I've been broke for] maybe 21 and a half years and a couple months.”

On smoking weed as a kid (which we do not endorse, dear readers): “That’s scandalous! I’m going to get all these little 7th-graders to start smoking weed and shit…. But I did. I stole my mom’s pipe and we bought some weed off some Cambodians at the park and were smoking up.”

On Arby’s: “Man, fuck Arby’s! The food stinks like fuckin’ Play-Doh.”
