The Popdust Files: katy perry, last friday night (t.g.i.f.), video teaser

At long last, “E.T.” is starting to slide down the Billboard Hot 100, slipping from #2 to #3 last week, so if Katy Perry wants to keep her ridiculous streak of consecutive weeks in the top ten alive, she better get moving pronto on fifth Teenage Dream single “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” Luckily for her, it looks like the song’s video should be arriving just in time, with a recently leaked trailer announcing its upcoming arrival a week from today on June 14th. The clip, which Perry predicted would “break the internet,” does look like an attention grabber, a gaudy exercise in fake 80s nostalgia featuring a headgear-bound Perry thinking back on her Friday night of revelry—including dancing, drinking, shoe-puking and boob-slipping. Epic!

Also, is it just us, or do those opening graphics look a lot like the intro to the video for another song dedicated to everyone’s favorite day of the working week? Just sayin’…
