The Popdust Files: nick cannon, viral video

Hey, remember how Nick Cannon was ostensibly a musician at some point in his career? Yeah, it’s been a pretty long time since “Gigolo,” and in the meantime, NC has moved on to significantly greener pastures as a comedian, a TV show host, and a celebrity husband married to someone a lot more famous than he is. But all that aside, Nick wants to remind you of his humble musical beginnings with new Akon-featuring jam “Famous”—though since the song kinda sucks, he also is handicapping his effort with a music video showing off his mastery of mimicry. In the video, the renaissance man places himself in the iconic videos for Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” and MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” but lest he seem out of touch, he also sends up some of today’s greatest viral stars, including Antoine Dodson and that homeless guy from Cleveland with the really good announcer voice. (Really, Nick? Was Rebecca Black too obvious?)
