Life is no longer imitating art for Amy Winehouse. The 27-year-old checked into a rehab facility to battle her ongoing alcohol addiction, her reps confirmed to People on Friday. Perhaps the third Glee cover of one of her songs put her over the edge?
According to a statement, Winehouse “has embarked on a treatment program at the Priory Clinic. She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice.” Kudos to Amy for getting help, but we can’t ignore how she spent her last moments outside the walls of the treatment center: drinking a miniature bottle of Smirnoff vodka. (Total rock star move.) You may now begin making your endless “Rehab“-related rehab jokes now.
