The Popdust Files: cee lo green, jimmy fallon

Cee-Lo Green’s had a hell of a few months, hasn’t he? “F(uck/orget) You.” The Voice. The Grammys. The Muppet outfit from the Grammys. In case you missed any of that, Jimmy Fallon reminded viewers of it all last night, and the Lo was more than happy to go along with it:

No bombshells here, just a few tidbits:

  • Cee-Lo says he recorded “Fuck You” after getting frustrated about how long the label was taking with his album. Wouldn’t be the first time that an artist bragged about how their smash hit was recorded just for kicks.
  • Cee-Lo mentioned he’d worked with Voice co-coach Christina Aguilera on a song cut from the Burlesque soundtrack. We’d love to hear it—if the soundtrack’s anything like Bionic, all the best collaborations were probably cut or shoved onto the bonus disc. (Santigold, Ladytron, we weep for you.)
  • There’s also yet another explanation of The Voice‘s rules and a preview clip, as if there weren’t enough of both on the show proper. Has a reality show ever needed this much hand-holding?
