The Popdust Files: monica, reba mcentire, sia, the voice

Following Tuesday night’s successful premiere, The Voice has already upped its star power. According to The Wrap, recording stars Monica, Reba (who’s dropped the McEntire) and Sia, as well as music producer Adam Blackstone, will join Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as advisers for their growing rosters of aspiring singers. They’ll help the judges over a series of four episodes, as their contestants move forward and compete against one another in a series of “battles.”

Of course, we were hoping producers would mix things up by pairing Monica with Shelton or Reba with Cee Lo, yet it appears they’re being fairly predictable with these new groups. Aguilera will team up with Sia, Cee Lo with Monica, Levine with his Maroon 5 producer Blackstone and Reba with her fellow country crooner Shelton. We’re still not sure how much these advisers will actually have to do, but let’s hope it ups the chances of an “Angel of Mine” performance, and at least one crazy thing out of Reba’s mouth.
