Another Wednesday, another “GagaVision” episode, our weekly look into the behind-the-scenes goings-on of Lady Gaga‘s life on the road. This week’s rendition sees Mother Monster saluting her Little ones (“My fans are my sunshine…[they make me] feel really fearless and strong and brave”), discussing her response to new single “Judas” leaking out in parts (“Just put me out of my fucking misery. Just put that shit out”) and explaining the greatest challenge involved in making her new album Born This Way (“I had to become confident…and secure in myself. I had to leave my insecurity behind me.”) Gaga saves her best soundbyte for the end, though, as she details the methodology behind her artistry:
“The creative process is approximately 15 minutes of vomiting…my creative ideas, in the forms of melodies, usually….And then, I spend days, weeks, months, years fine-tuning…but the idea is that you honor your vomit.”
There you go, future Julliard attendees—Lady Gaga’s first rule of songwriting: Honor Thy Vomit. Inscription-worthy, no doubt.
