Instant Grammy Review: Lady Antebellum Does Teddy Pendergrass (Really?)
Twitter was confused why, exactly, Lady Antebellum was picked to pay tribute to the late great Teddy Pendergrass, and while Twitter is usually wrong (sorry Twitter!), they had a point here. A brief list of people who could have been more appropriate would include Cee Lo, Usher, Raphael Saadiq, Drake, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert and Eminem. But if you are here for the authenticity thing, then hey, the other songs were great! They sang “American Honey” and “Need You Now” and their vocals were nice and nothing exploded and there were no ninjas, so it was totally important and real and stuff. At least they didn’t have Gwyneth Paltrow…
