The Popdust Files: patrick stump
After last week’s Grammy nominee extravaganza, Patrick Stump is back at the mic, where he covers John Legend’s “Green Light”—and includes André 3000′s verse:
This time it’s a little less Petra Haden, a little more Michael Bublé, with a few a few dance moves thrown in for good measure. It’s unclear what’s inspiring these performative bursts—maybe he’s desperate to tour in support of his upcoming record but has to keep the material under wraps?—but one thing’s for sure: He must get invited to karaoke all the time.
(Editor’s note (Jan. 26, 10:30 AM): An updated version of the clip, with a backing track, was posted overnight and has been inserted in this post.)
