Hoping that a sequel will match the success of the original, Cash Money Records announced today the I Am Music II Tour headlined by Lil Wayne, coming to an arena near you this spring, ostensibly to promote the coming-at-some-unknown-date Tha Carter IV.

Unlike the 2009 I Am Music and America’s Most Wanted tours—which broke all-time records for rap tour grosses—I Am Music II will not feature Young Money as a supporting act, though various members will likely make cameos along the way. Rick Ross will also lend his sizeable talents to the tour, and Nicki Minaj will be there as well (here’s hoping she does plenty of her less R&B-oriented material in addition to songs from Pink Friday).

Travis Barker and Mixmaster Mike will open the show with a DJ/drummer set. Barker’s new album Give The Drummer Some is due out three days before the tour’s launch; “Can A Drummer Get Some,” which features Weezy and Ross as well as the Game and Swizz Beatz, leaked over the weekend.

It should be noted that Wayne’s recent declaration that he will never play a show in New York again after being jailed there apparently only refers to the city, as the tour kicks off in Buffalo on March 18 and there’s a show scheduled for Uniondale’s Nassau Coliseum—which is about 45 minutes from the center of Manhattan by train—on March 27. Or maybe he got that “U2 money” that he was referring to as his requirement to play the Empire State again?
